Kids, On A Mission!

Every wedding I have photographed has had kids involved in one way or another. They are their own mini-story present at a wedding. They are assigned tasks so they feel special too, such as keeping the rings on their radar or making sure the train never hits the floor. Each child shines and it's because they are surrounded by love on such a beautiful day of a couples lives.

5 Online Resources For Brides!

As I make my way through the maze of websites for brides I can understand why they get so stressed out! So throughout my journey I have come across some really great resources any bride should check out!

This site is pretty awesome! Its a site for brides looking for just the right kind of vendor for their special day. There are also ratings of each vendor on the site so you can see what other brides had to say about a certain vendor.

Wedding Bee is a similar site but this one also has some fun DIY ideas for the hands on creative bride! Check out the forums too, there might be some unanswered questions you have about your wedding, all right there!

 Because It's Martha!

This site is pretty awesome! I know a lot of brides out there are doing all the planning on their own. This site helps with that with awesome printable sheets for wedding planning checklists, budgets and some great articles!

This one is one of my favs!  Couples can build their own wedding website, check out the blog for great tips and ideas and plan their dream wedding!

I think these are all great sites to be a part of before your wedding day! So many resources and advice from real brides just like you!

Happy Planning!

The Grooms

I spend a lot of my time with the bride, watching the nerves blossom the closer it gets to tying the knot. But those nerves are just the same with the groom, if not more intense. The groom is there sharing these feelings with his closest friends and family. They may not speak of it, (against the guy code maybe) but it's written all over their faces.

Baby Stages: The Good, The Bad and the Just So Darn Cute!

As a photographer I work with kids about 85% of the time. It can be very challenging and in some instances a total breeze! I've noticed different photographic stages in the first year of life and by knowing these stages it helps me approach a shoot with confidence! The first stage, Newborn. They are so darn cute and you can mold them like a warm ball of clay in the cutest poses and positions. It's best to photograph newborns in the first two weeks of life in order to have that flexibility with your subject.

The second stage would really be considered the "baby ugly" stage. Now we all know babies aren't ugly, but from about 3 weeks to 3 months babies are awkward in their skin. They can't stretch out and they have baby acne and well, the rest is history.

The 3 and 4 month range is difficult sometimes to get creative with. At this point the baby isn't sitting up and there are really only 2 poses that they can really handle and that is on the back and on the tummy.

6 months are my FAVORITE! They have just discovered how to sit up by this point and they are stationary. No carpet crawlers yet, and if you get a good nap for the little one right before, you are guaranteed more smiles!

The 9 month to one year stage is so much fun too! They are moving, clapping, walking, crawling, laughing, playing etc... You can get so creative with this age group! Well there you have it! Hope this gave you some insight about photographing little ones in their first year!

Happy Photographing!
