Sisters By Marriage

One thing is for sure, the bridesmaids play a very important role on the wedding day! They help their bride by making sure she looks flawless and everything goes off without a hitch. What ever their bride needs, her "sisters" are there to help.

Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue

We've all heard it before, it's tradition, good luck... But do we really know why brides carry these things? It reminds me of being in grade school with a pocket full of goodies! So, What do each of these items represent? Well it's much more than some pocket lent, a stick of gum, and a my little ponies figurine.

Something Old
This token usually comes from someone in the brides family, it represents her continued devotion to her family.

Something New
This token is for the beginning of the couple's new life

Something Borrowed
Is a token to be given from a happily married woman to bestow that same happiness on the new brides marriage.

Something Blue
Is a token used to represent trueness and fidelity.

Like I always say, it's all in the details!

Good With Kids!

During a lot of the photo sessions I do involving kiddos, the parents almost always say "oh my gosh you are just so good with kids, so patient." Then the next words out of their mouths are "Do you have any kids?" The answer is no. But when I think about it the kids that come to me to get their portraits made are the best kids I could ask for. Plus I get to dress them up in cute hats and outfits and play silly games! I would say thats an added bonus!

It Tops The Cake... Literally.

The one shot that is never missing from my wedding photos is those unique pieces that grace the tops of those magnificent cakes! I believe that each cake topper matches the personalities of the couples perfectly. The one shot here is from Amanda & Andrews Wedding, At Main Street Crossing in Tomball, Texas! They were such a fun and laid back couple, full of life and deeply in love!

All About The Details!

There are so many details that are present at a wedding. I could start a list about all of the wedding details but I would probably write into the early morning. That being said, everything happens so quickly. The small things are just a blur. The bride would be lucky to stop and smell her own bouquet! But it's one thing I love about what I do, capturing those details so the couple can remember their day exactly the way it was!

Kids, On A Mission!

Every wedding I have photographed has had kids involved in one way or another. They are their own mini-story present at a wedding. They are assigned tasks so they feel special too, such as keeping the rings on their radar or making sure the train never hits the floor. Each child shines and it's because they are surrounded by love on such a beautiful day of a couples lives.

5 Online Resources For Brides!

As I make my way through the maze of websites for brides I can understand why they get so stressed out! So throughout my journey I have come across some really great resources any bride should check out!

This site is pretty awesome! Its a site for brides looking for just the right kind of vendor for their special day. There are also ratings of each vendor on the site so you can see what other brides had to say about a certain vendor.

Wedding Bee is a similar site but this one also has some fun DIY ideas for the hands on creative bride! Check out the forums too, there might be some unanswered questions you have about your wedding, all right there!

 Because It's Martha!

This site is pretty awesome! I know a lot of brides out there are doing all the planning on their own. This site helps with that with awesome printable sheets for wedding planning checklists, budgets and some great articles!

This one is one of my favs!  Couples can build their own wedding website, check out the blog for great tips and ideas and plan their dream wedding!

I think these are all great sites to be a part of before your wedding day! So many resources and advice from real brides just like you!

Happy Planning!

The Grooms

I spend a lot of my time with the bride, watching the nerves blossom the closer it gets to tying the knot. But those nerves are just the same with the groom, if not more intense. The groom is there sharing these feelings with his closest friends and family. They may not speak of it, (against the guy code maybe) but it's written all over their faces.
